Cuisinart is the best choice

| Review Date: September 25, 2009 |

Cuisinart may be more expensive but as the old saying goes you get what you pay for.
The parts are easily purchased and they work when they arrive what a bonus!
We first purchased a cheaper brand and it mashed anything you wanted sliced, then a friend recommended the Cuisinart food processor that was ten years ago when we owned a Deli, now as a food manager I wanted to speed up the prep time so I purchased the Cuisinart blade to slice tomatoes. My employees love it. |
An essential accessory for my 14 cup Cuisinart PowerPrepPlus
|
| Review Date: February 1, 2010 |
| Reviewer: E. A. Getchell, Palma Sola, Florida |
I love my new Cuisinart 6-Millimeter Thick Slicing Disc, fits 14-Cup Processor and I'm very glad I bought it.
I am a raw vegan and use my PowerPrep almost every day. I find my accessory discs in addition to those that are included with the Cuisinart DLC-2014N PowerPrep Plus 14-Cup Capacity Food Processor, White to be indispensable. I was debating between investing in this or the 8-Millimeter Extra Thick disc but after testing the 6-Millimeter extensively for the slicing jobs which I needed a thicker blade, the 6-Millimeter served me exceedingly well. I was very satisfied with the finished product ~ uniformly thick slices of yams, potatoes and zucchini for raw, dehydrated chips and consider the Cuisinart 6-Millimeter Thick Slicing Disc, fits 14-Cup Processor another essential for my food processor.
The 6-mm slice was really perfect for the yams and potatoes. The zucchini also sliced beautifully but really shrunk to paper thinness after dehydrating. The finished chips are still yummy and make a nice, healthy snack but I think I would like them even better if they were sliced thicker before dehydrating. So, I might still like the even thicker 8-mm blade someday, particularly for zucchini and other veggies like tomatoes and cucumbers or fruits like kiwi and apples which are softer and have a higher moisture content.
I can see myself also putting the 8-mm disc to a lot of good use and it is on my wish list but in the meantime, the 6-mm is more than adequate for my projects. These accessories are spendy but I think they are well worth their cost. |

Cusinart Replacement Bowl
|
| Review Date: May 16, 2009 |
| Reviewer: Rita G Anderson, |
| This is the fourth replacement bowl for my nearly 30-year old Cuisinart. The fit was perfect, both to the Cuisnart base and the lid. |
Great price, need a little elbow grease to use.
|
| Review Date: September 1, 2009 |
| Reviewer: Carol Phillips, IL |
| I matched the code FP-631AGTX from my old bowl on my 7 cup Cuisinart Food Processor. The new bowl is hard to snap into place on the base. Though the top snaps on easily. I'm hoping that it will improve with use. I'm spraying the bottom with Pam and it goes on without concern about breaking. I definitely recommend this over buying a whole new processor. |
replacement fit is poor
|
| Review Date: November 5, 2006 |
| Reviewer: John A. Meineker+Lorraine, Tampa, FL |
Granted, I probably should replace my processor because of its age, but it works fine.
I had to replace my bowl recently for myDCL -8 Plus; and the bowl is very difficult to get on and even more difficult to get off. The fit is not the same. |

Wonderful for Parmesan and Chocolate
|
| Review Date: April 20, 2006 |
| Reviewer: Amalfi Coast Girl, Mid-Atlantic, USA |
Using this disk and my Cuisinart is so much easier than grating hard Parmesan on a Microplane grater. I use this whenever I need more than a couple of tablespoons of hard cheese. Since I usually make Italian food this disc has been a great help in my kitchen.
If you hate grating your own Parmesan on a microplane give this a try, I think you will love it.
It is also nice for grating dark chocolate so that it melts more quickly in a double boiler.
I highly recommend this product.

Perfect to grate potato
|
| Review Date: July 15, 2009 |
| Reviewer: Oksana, Atlanta, GA |
| If you are a lover of a Russian cuisine and like potato pancakes (Draniki) it's wonderful to grate potato. I couldn't find anything on a market for a long time that would grate potato in a food processor as fine as this blade. Now I can make potato pancakes in 10 min. Perfect for it! |

not worth the effort to grate hard cheeses
|
| Review Date: February 8, 2008 |
| Reviewer: Lorraine Stevenski, Clearwater, Florida |
| I use a lot of parmiagiano cheese and thought it would be easier to grate with this disc. The cheese gets stuck at the top of the grater disc and you have to constantly take the top off the processor and free up the cheese to continue. I think my OXO hand grater does a better job with less effort. |
Fine Grater Disc not foo fine!
|
| Review Date: February 25, 2009 |
| Reviewer: CHARLOTTE HENDERSHOT, Hudson, PA |
| The bad thing I found out about this grater was the fact is does not have holes which go through to the other side as do other discs. Therefore, what happens is that anything passed through the shoot comes out mushy. The ideal grater disc would be to have the same design as other discs to release the product through the bottom. Take heed Cuisinart. |
no passage on the underside
|
| Review Date: March 7, 2008 |
| Reviewer: Howaida Weel, miami, florida United States |
I thought this would be the answer to grating my carrots for salads and carrot cake. Boy was I wrong! There are no holes on the underside of the grating plane. Instead of fine strands you get pulp piling up on the top of the disc. How this product made it out of the design room honestly baffles me. Shame on you cuisinart.
It is the worst compliment to an otherwise dream machine; thats why it baffles me. |
