With this versatile cutting disc, you'll create 1/4-inch square strips of potatoes, zucchini, and turnips for deep frying or baking, coarsely chop tomatoes and onions for salsa, make sticks of celery and carrots and other vegetables for salads and crudités, and cut strips of fruits for salads and preserves. The raised shelf behind the cutting blade prevents slices from colliding with the disc itself, providing perfect, uniform strips every time. The disc slots easily onto the detachable disc stem, but be sure to handle it carefully, as these blades are very sharp. --Jennifer Harris

excellent addition to cuisinart food processor system! my wife loves it already, and it just adds to the abilities of the cuisinart system, so it gets used even more than it did before, which is great for our family of 7!Cuisinart DLC-836 6-by-6mm Fruit, Vegetable and French Fry Disc Fits 7 and 11-Cup Processors

I use this disc for french fries for which it is perfect. It cuts 6x6mm obviously it is a julienne blade, so complaints from buyers who "thought" it would make bigger slices are ridiculous. It does exactly what is says and highly recommended for your cuisinart.
14-Cup Cuisinart julienne disc

Very useful add-on disc. Indispensable for zucchini, squash, carrots, and potatoes (hash browns). Works best if veggies cubed beforehand. Slices too small to make traditional french-fries, so "French Fry Disc" is a bit of a misnomer.

This disc quickly whipped out shoestring fries. Works great. I'd also like to have a disc that made slightly larger fries too though.
Slightly disappointed

I purchased this hoping to make homemade french fries and sweet potato fries. I used it immediately but was slightly disappointed in how thin the potatoes came out. I was expecting the fries to be more like a crinkle cut thickness and this was more of a shoestring size. I personally feel the discs should be cheaper or more of them included in the original purchase of your Cuisinart as they are pricey. I have the 14 cup model and the discs are all very expensive, especially when you realize that they don't quite meet up to what you expected, therefore, you are less apt to use it. I would consider this more of a julienne cut rather than a french fry cut.

Disc cutter works on vegetables well, but I would like to have a larger, possibly an 8by8mm, opening for larger french fries.
Less than satisfactory for my needs

I use a lot of matchsticks or julienne strips of veggies in my living food recipes, especially for nori rolls, veggie wraps, salads, Thai-style entrees, etc. I was very excited about this Cuisinart 6-by-6mm Fruit, Vegetable and French Fry Disc, fits 14-Cup Processor and quickly purchased it as an extra accessory for my new Cuisinart DLC-2014N PowerPrep Plus 14-Cup Capacity Food Processor, White. Like all the Cuisinart accessories for the 14 cup food processors, it is spendy and was a bit of a strain on my budget but I knew I would put it to frequent use so I considered it a good investment.
I put the disc right to work as soon as I received it, julienning assorted vegetables to fill my nori rolls. Although the disc performed very well for the softer veggies ~ the cucumber and zucchini ~ turning out a really nice, clean, square julienne cut that didn't mush up, the results for the harder carrot and daikon radish were less than satisfactory.
Maybe I haven't gotten the knack of the technique yet and need to practice with the disc a little more but processing the carrots and daikon was very disappointing. The parts of the veggies that actually got cut turned out beautifully but it seemed like my machine had to labor too hard to make the cut, noisily rocking and shaking across the kitchen counter-top. Furthermore a lot of the veggies got jammed in the holes causing a sizable portion of the remaining veggie not to be able to pass through the blade, leaving a lot of large, frayed and mangled chunks. I chopped up the rejected pieces so I had no waste but still I was very disappointed with the overall performance.
Based on the other reviewers' favorable comments about using the disc for shoestring cuts for potatoes, I'm not going to give up on it yet but still I'm wondering if I can really recommend it, therefore I must give it the ambivalent 3 stars.

This doesn't fit the 14 cups Cuisinart Elite Collection Food Processor. So, why are they sayig that it fits 14 cup processors it is a puzzle to me. I am not saying that they are not saying the truth, but it sure DOESN'T fit my brand new, ultimate, 14 cup processor, which I purchased together with this blade. So, be aware of this fact and save you time and frustration. Amazon didn't honnor the misrepresantation and, as a result, i ended up paying full shipping costs for receiving and sending back this product. Unfair? You bet!
